As a practitioner led company, BOP Educational Programs work to ensure the continued journey and growth of the jazz art form within our dance, music and theatre educational community.

With over 28 years of presenting jazz arts programs both national and international, BOP artistic directors Dollie Henry MBE and Paul Jenkins have shared their experience and expertise as jazz artists providing a landscape to nurture and mentor countless students, dancers and creatives.

BOP’s distinctive bespoke creative programs work in conjunction with current arts provision provided in schools (GCSE/A Level) and FE, HE Colleges and Universities or as stand-alone dance masterclasses, workshops, residencies and Lectures.

The programs are devised and delivered to support and motivate all level of students, professional dancers and the wider dance community.

As a creative company, BOP’s aim is to encourage, enlighten and enable all participants to engage and explore in the inclusive nature of the jazz tradition. Sharing its history, creativity and innovation beyond the commercial exploitation and access the wider story of the jazz dance theatre expression and jazz music traditions. Jazz is more than a four-letter word!

We offer the following programs that can be delivered to fit into educational timetables and curriculums. For example: We offer full days, half days or one of sessions.

Let’s Talk Jazz Lecture - sharing the History, Context and Lineage of Jazz Dance and Music - Presented through PowerPoint presentation.
Practice and Participation Jazz Class - to develop a greater understanding of jazz dance techniques and skills.
Creative and Artistic Masterclasses - discovery, personal growth, and creative experience through the learning of Jazz choreography, company repertoire and improvisation.
Jazz music appreciation and interpretation - The symbiotic relationship between jazz music, jazz dance and the creative nuances.
Student/Artists Careers Round Table Talks.
