BOP are delighted to facilitate a platform that supports the next generation of UK Jazz Dance practitioners.

Following on from the success of Jazz Arts ReWIRED 2023, we are delighted to once again facilitate The Emerging Jazz Artist Performance Platform. They aim to nurture and support undiscovered jazz talent, vital for the ongoing legacy of UK Jazz Dance Theatre Arts. The platform is co-sponsored in association with One Dance UK and Jazz Theatre Arts UK

The Platform offers Four Emerging Choreographers, the opportunity to realise their artistic idea and showcase their creative work as part of Jazz Arts Rewired 2025 performances program at The Place on Saturday 20th September 2025. 

Emerging Artist Eligibility - What you need to know:

  • All Emerging Artists applying - must be a UK based independent Jazz Dance Artists, Choreographers and/or an emerging Dance Theatre Company.

  • Be able to - present a completed dance work of up to 6 minutes in length.

  • Maximum of 4 dancers.

  • Creative requirements: Your creative theatre work, must be informed by the jazz dance idiom and aesthetic, supported by jazz music soundscape or music of black origin and present jazz theatre dance through the artistic and creative lens.

  • Must be available for Technical Call on either 18th or 19th September 2025 with Dress Run/Performance on 20th September 2025.

  • Application Deadline: 21st March 2025 | Artist Shortlist Notification: 28th March 2025

  • Selected artists will also receive an Inclusive Creative/Performance Fee.

  • Guidance and advice throughout the creative process to performance.

  • Support regarding Music Copyright (PRS)

  • Access to use original jazz music for your piece and/or support in editing music sponsored by BOP Music.

Note: All applications will be viewed by a panel of industry opractitioners and subsequent meetings with the curators of the event will take place thereafter | Unfortunately, we will not be able to give individual feedback if your application is unsuccessful.
